One of our greatest joys in life is being creative. We've lost count of how many times we've been to a pottery cafe to spend some quality time painting and trying out new patterns and shapes. Our home is filled with the pieces of pottery we've created over the years, which reminds us every day that we are doing something we truly love.
We have loved our pottery painting journey but one thing missed while getting creative and messy was a decent cup of fresh coffee and a slice of truly home made cake. Personally, we felt that the experience would be made much better if we could also enjoy a treat or two while we painted.
We started to talk, and talking turned into doing and suddenly we found ourselves with a shop and the funding to open our very own craft cafe! Our dream was to create a beautiful space filled with quirky things that appealed to adults as well as children. A place where the design and decoration had been thought about with great attention to detail, a place which 'looked' as good as any contemporary independent cafe and offered the finest quality teas, coffees and home made cakes. We decided that just because it’s a working craft studio with mess and splatters, it doesn't mean that the decoration and ambience should suffer, and it certainly doesn't mean that great tea and cake can’t be offered!
And that was it, we had a plan which was essentially ‘let’s put the “cafe” back into ceramics cafe!’ And here we are with our very own business, with everything just the way we would like it if we were to visit our perfect pottery cafe, and we hope that it is also many other people’s idea of the perfect pottery cafe too. So please come and try us, meet us in person and chat to us about what you’d like to see in your perfect pottery cafe and who knows, it might just appear in Busy Brush!
We look forward to welcoming you into our second home.
